At this point in history, the first thirteen laws of golf were drawn up for an annual competition. The first documented record makes references to modern golf. It was during the mid to late 1800’s that the game of golf really became world renowned.

Personal Golf Styles Developing your own golfing style, do you really need to? Seems like an obvious statement, but sometimes beginners think they just need to imitate a professional golf player, and they’ll instantly have golf success. There are no shortcuts to becoming a good golfer so obviously the above statement is incorrect.

Unlike short-game training devices or swing aids they do not work directly on teaching you the proper techniques of the golf swing. However they are indeed incredibly creative in unexpected and very imaginative ways. They are made to make the crazy game of golf more fun, a lot less strenuous and simply easier to play.

Proper Golf Swing - One of the harder things to Master Most beginning golfers don’t realize how much skill and technique goes into a proper golf swing. It looks so easy when you see experienced golfers or pros swing - it even sounds quite simple when the theory of the technique is explained to you. But watching it and hearing about it, and actually doing it yourself are indeed two different things!

Why Golf Practice is Important How many times have you been at a driving range and witnessed stall after stall filled with tired looking golfers endlessly pounding balls. Many golfers, in spite of of their proficiency level, are guilty of wasting their practice time. Most have chosen the large bucket and believe only of launching all those small pellets with the big stick.

Improve Your Golf Swing and Driving Distance with Golf Stretches The golf swing is arguably one of the most difficult athletic actions to perform. The golf swing requires you to draw the golf club through a long range of motion with proper technique and exact timing.
Any error in swing plane, timing, or sequence will cause your golf swing to suffer, and suffer it will. Unfortunately, the result of your golf swing suffering will be errant shots, poor golf scores, and frustration on the golf course.

History of Golf in Scotland While many countries have a valid claim to an early game that resembles the game of golf, the origins of golf are without a doubt routed in Scotland’s past. The fact is, golf probably derived from other countries and stick and ball type games. However, while these are stick and ball games, they are missing that vital ingredient that is unique to golf. The hole. It was the Scots who introduced the golf hole into the game we now call golf.

Golf Basics I would like to focus the jest of this article on the basis of the golf swing… the grip. With spring in the air and golf on our minds let’s get this year off to a good start by not overlooking the basics.
Unquestionably the biggest mistake I see in people’s golf swing isn’t in their golf swing itself.
Nope. Not at all.
More often than not the mistakes happen before the swing even begins. The first mistake is made in how the golfer holds the golf club.

Golf Stance Tips Many newer golfers (and a few older ones, too) have a tendency to misalign themselves when they take their stance. Normally, what they will do is aim way right of the target and they do this for a reason. Players who are misaligned from the get go and aim right are usually players who try to swing with their arms. When they do this the ball will almost always take off to the left. So what they are doing with this “right side” target trick is trying to fix a problem before it even happens!

How to Fix a Weak Golf Grip For the average golfer, the grip is probably the most overlooked fundamental, yet it’s one of the most important techniques to good golf.
An incorrect grip, especially one that’s too weak, sets up a chain reaction that makes it difficult (if not impossible) to hit the ball straight and with any reasonable distance.
